National Storm Chaser Convention

ctv-booth
ChaserTV participated as a vendor over Valentines Day weekend at the NSCC in Denver.  We had a great  time meeting current customers, talking to potential customers, and most of all, learning from streamers and viewers how we can improve the service for them.
As you can tell from the crowd, we had great interest in our product, thus a very successful weekend.  At the booth was a preview of the CTV2010 website featuring the subscriber’s stream, a chat room, map with radar and chaser placement, social networking share links and subscriber’s contact info.  We expect this new format to be released sometime around March 1 and look forward to presenting it to the masses.

Spring is right around the corner and while we are signing chasers to subscriptions 24/7/365, right now is a great time to get an account and have it optimized before the first chase.
Corporate accounts too are available at all times but we certainly encourage off-season sign-up for those who are considering CTV service for weather use.  Simply contact steve@chasertv.com for more info on corporate accounts and ChaserTV.com for individual subscriptions.

East Coast Storm - A Look Ahead

Another active weather period is underway with a system pounding the east coast with over a foot of snow in the DC area and impacts felt up and down the coast.
As that storm exits, the next one lines up for more impact over areas affected by last week’s ice and snow event. Models at this time put 6-8″ of snow in western OK up through south central Kansas.
With sweeps and yet another big weathermaker, give some live streaming video a try for your newscast!

TX/OK/KS Winter Wx Update

Working with limited time before this winter storm so we’ll be brief this afternoon.
The latest model guidance suggests a major snow event for the TX panhandle, NW OK and southern KS. Central and NE OK will see ice and wind; a horrible combination.

Remember, live streaming video from the areas worst hit is hard to deal($) in once an event is well underway.  Please contact CTV subscribers as soon as their feed comes online in order to get good content and pricing.  ChaserTV.com

TX/OK/AR Winter Storm

What an amazing looking storm system shaping up on the west coast.  We are anxiously awaiting what tonight’s models may bring.  Regardless, there is little doubt that the mid-section of the country is under the gun with a huge news-making weather event.
Power outages will be a big story, as will frigid temps and closed interstates, airports, etc.
We will be updating our twitter with current streams available for license and also daily updates right here on the CTV Media page.
We welcome you to license video with any of our subscribers and will remind you that ChaserTV is not a broker.  Contact direct with the chaser(s) is recommended although a quick call to CTV or mail to CTV support will generally get you connected to whomever you are looking for.

If you are interested in ChaserTV services for your station, please mail steve@chasertv.com and he’ll get back with you ASAP.

Winter Weather Returns

Low topped supercells produced this tornado in Robertson County, TN yesterday.  Finally, the initial storm system that brought flooding rain to the west, Tornadoes to TX & LA and the final push yesterday, is off-shore.  What an interesting weather week it was too with severe in the south and ice / snow in the north.  Check out these ice images from Tyler Berg.

After much of the U.S. experienced warmer than normal temperatures over the past five-days or so, a rude awakening will occur toward mid week.  Winter returns with brutal low temps and freezing precip of every type, depending on location.  We will update as the storm approaches and models begin to firm up a little.
This does not look like a blizzard forecast as some are advertising, although things can certainly change.  Oklahoma and the TX panhandle look to feel the brunt of this storm and ice could very well be the mode.  Again, it’s a wait and see situation.
